Multiple pinto genes can be present on a single horse. Horses with multiple pinto genes can range from very minimally marked to completely white. It can often be too hard to tell what pinto genes a horse carries, especially if it is a Max White Pinto, just by looking at it; looking at the parents can give clues but ultimately it is genetic testing that will give a clear answer. Pinto genes can also combine with other genes including the LP complex, these combinations are called Pintaloosas.
